Brainspotting & EMDR Intensives

  • Focused Healing

During an Brainspotting & EMDR Intensive you focus on a particular issue or goal intensely for an extended period, ranging a from 2 hours in a single day up to 4 to 6 hours over several days.

  • Effective & Efficient

Growing research shows intensives to offer quick and lasting relief. Intensives can be more economical given the laser focus on specific issues or traumas without the regular check in and closing of weekly sessions.

  • Intensives Offer Flexibility

Don’t worry about how to fit weekly therapy into your schedule. Schedule a specific time to focus on your healing. You don’t need change therapists to do a Brainspotting or EMDR Intensive as it can be done as adjunctive therapy.

EMDR & Brainspotting Intensives are an innovative and effective way to work deeply and find relief and clarity more quickly.

An intensive may be a fit for you if…

You never seem to get to doing the deeper work in therapy.

You feel like talk therapy has helped you cope better with life’s challenges. It has provided a place for you to vent, gain perspective, and approach things differently which is great. But you feel like you never get to the root. You haven’t have truly shifted your old patterns and beliefs, or explored deeper spiritual and existential questions.

You started therapy with the intention of finally dealing with past traumas and the burdens you carry. You were going to try trauma work with EMDR or Brainspotting but “life got in the way”, it felt like “too much” to address in the standard therapy hour and just go back to life, or the therapist wasn’t experienced of comfortable doing EMDR or Brainspotting.

You can’t imagine how you would fit weekly therapy into your life.

Maybe you are in therapy but see your therapist every 2 weeks or once a month. It can be helpful to have a check in but it just keeps your head above water. You want to thrive, not just get through your days. Or work, family, and other demands are just too complicated for you to figure out how to participate in traditional therapy. Maybe you just don’t like it or can’t see how traditional therapy could be helpful to you?

You are tired of dealing this or feeling this way. You just want to feel better sooner than later.

  • You have experienced a recent traumatic event (s)

  • Things have finally caught up to you and you feel overwhelmed. You aren’t in crisis but you want to get some clarity and more peace.

  • For whatever reason, you are just ready to go deeper to address root issues or traumas and you don’t want to wait.

You love your current therapist but they are not trained in Brainspotting or EMDR.

  • You don’t want to stop talk therapy with your existing therapist because it has been so helpful but you would like to do some trauma work.

  • You didn’t realize that you could do a Brainspotting or EMDR Intensive as adjunctive therapy and stay with your current therapist.

  • Intensive EMDR treatment is feasible and is indicative of reliable improvement in PTSD symptoms in a very short time frame. Learn more here.

  • An intensive program using EMDR therapy is a potentially safe and effective treatment alternative for complex PTSD. Learn more here.

  • The economy is compelling: even compared to other trauma therapy, the intensive format may decrease treatment time, because of time not spent on a) checking in at the beginning of each session, b) addressing current crises and concerns, c) focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that the client won’t need after trauma healing, or d) assisting the client in regaining composure at the end of the session.
