Brainspotting for Deep Change

Therapy Atlanta, New York, and Portland, Maine

Therapy to finally get unstuck

You know that there is more to life, that you are capable of more but, you just can’t seem to get there...and are not even sure where “there” is. This isn’t your first time in therapy... you’ve done “self-work” through counseling, spiritual searching, religious practice or philosophical inquiry. Pieces of this work have helped, but not enough.

You have gained so much insight, but you haven't really changed your patterns

You still fall into the same mental and emotional ruts and can’t connect to people in your life the way you would like to. Sometimes emotional reactions catch you by surprise and don’t fit who you want to be. You worry (or feel) that something is burdening you and negatively impacting your health. But no matter how you try, you can’t seem to get free of it.

I am a Brainspotting therapist and I can help

Kim Austin - Brainspotting & EMDR Therapist

Kim Austin, LCSW - Brainspotting & EMDR Therapist serving clients in Atlanta, New York, and Portland, Maine.

Specializing in Anxiety, Trauma - Brainspotting & EMDR

My name is Kimberly Austin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Brainspotting Therapist licensed in Georgia, New York and Maine. I help people find greater clarity, self-understanding, and compassion so that they can get free of internal blocks that are holding them back in their relationships, work, and life. Often past trauma or other negative experiences prevent you from moving forward but, sometimes the root cause is unknown. My work with you picks up where traditional talk therapy ends. I use a powerful brain-based therapy called Brainspotting.

Brainspotting is an open, adaptable model that goes beyond talking and relies on your brain and body’s inherent healing mechanisms to bring about resolution and change. I rely on my professional training and personal experience to help you but, the ultimate key to my success is my capacity to attune to and trust your brain, body, and spirit to guide your healing. I aim to be authentic and open, to listen deeply but, to also engage with and challenge you...with humor and respect. After Brainspotting with me

My hope is that you walk away with not just greater insight and understanding of yourself, but that you feel “lighter”, have reduced pain and tension, and are less reactive to old triggers. That you have a sense that the shadow of the past is no longer dictating or influencing your sense of yourself, how you interact with others, or the choices that you are making.

Many people can experience a sense of relief after only 2 or 3 sessions of Brainspotting but, often people find weeks or months of Brainspotting therapy to be ideal. It depends on each person’s history, goals, and needs.
